Bárbara Ferreira holds a degree in Political Science and International Relations (FCSH/UNL), a Master's degree in Development and International Cooperation (ISEG/ULisboa), and is a doctoral candidate in Economic and Organizational Sociology (ISEG/ULisboa).

Since 2011, she has participated in several national and international research and public policy evaluation projects, focusing on the areas of Urban Studies, Migration, Gender Studies, Community Development, and Social and Solidarity Economy. She teaches in the Postgraduate Programs in Community Development and Social and Solidarity Economy (IPPS/ISCTE-IUL).
