Luís Vargas holds a degree in Industrial Design from IADE and a master's degree in Engineering Design from Instituto Superior Técnico.

He began his career as a researcher at the IN+ Center for Innovation, Technology and Policy Research and at the ISR - Institute of Systems and Robotics. He worked as an industrial designer at YDreams, where he would later lead the department in Portugal and Brazil.

He co-founded the Fisherman communications agency, where he worked as a designer and computer programmer, and as a product development consultant for several MedTech startups in Switzerland.
