The latest publication from the "Policies in Analysis" editorial line reflects the intervention of Catarina de Oliveira Carvalho, associate professor at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Portugal, at the conference organized by CoLABOR, entitled "Decent Work: Context and Readings of the Agenda", held on November 4, 2023.
With some legislative, jurisprudential, and doctrinal updates justified by the time elapsed between the oral presentation and its publication, and by the subsequent entry into force of legislation regulating Law No. 13/2023, this publication focuses on three fundamental aspects of the new legal provisions:
- The protection of new groups that, until now, were largely outside the scope of labor law, such as digital platform workers and economically dependent self-employed workers;
- Changes regarding work-life balance, thus promoting gender equality;
Measures adopted to combat job insecurity.
