CoLABOR 2023 Conference “Employment in Portugal: Diagnostics, Trends and Policies”
PRESS RELEASE
On December 6th, in Porto, at the auditorium of the Manuel António da Mota Foundation, CoLABOR - the Collaborative Laboratory for Work, Employment and Social Protection - will hold the CoLABOR 2023 Conference, this year dedicated to the theme "Employment in Portugal: Diagnoses, Trends and Policies".
CoLABOR is the only collaborative laboratory whose agenda focuses on the themes of work and employment and their connections with social protection systems, acknowledging the cross-cutting nature of technological changes.
Employment in Portugal is going through a period of restructuring and change, some accelerated, others gradual, with short- and medium-term social, economic, and political impacts.
In this context, the CoLABOR 2023 Conference will focus on analyzing these trends and strategically reflecting on them, mobilizing knowledge and perspectives from qualified actors in the business, academic, trade union and political fields.
The four thematic sessions of these conferences will focus on employment needs, taking into account the reported labor shortages in various economic sectors, the migration scenario, and skills mismatches, particularly in some subsectors of industry. The impact of technologies on work organization and fiscal policies and contribution systems will also be topics of discussion.
The meeting will also include the participation of António Cunha, President of the CCRD Norte. The Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, Ana Mendes Godinho, will speak at the closing session.
