CoLABOR has begun its participation in the project “+IGUAL – Combating Gender and Domestic Violence in São Tomé and Príncipe”, an initiative funded by the European Union and co-financed and managed by Camões, IP, which aims to contribute to the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women and girls in São Tomé and Príncipe.
The +IGUAL project runs from 2023 to 2027 and focuses on strengthening support services for survivors of gender-based violence through networking, skills and resources enhancement, and raising awareness of victims' rights.
Within the scope of this broader project, CoLABOR, an entity contracted by Camões, IP, will be responsible, between April 2026 and March 2027, for developing an information management system in the area of gender-based and domestic violence in São Tomé and Príncipe.
This intervention aims to create, adapt, or adopt a system that strengthens the capacity of São Toméan entities to collect, manage, and use information on gender-based violence, contributing to more effective, coordinated, and sustainable responses.
The system will be developed in accordance with the principles of the Gender Based Violence Information Management System (GBVIMS), following a participatory and institutionally integrated approach.
CoLABOR coordinates this component of the project through Frederico Cantante, and also counts on the participation of Catarina Mendes Cruz, Luís Vargas and Tânia Almeida.
With this participation, CoLABOR reinforces its commitment to promoting equality, human rights, and creating more effective responses for the prevention and combating of gender-based and domestic violence.
