CoLABOR 2023 Conference “Employment in Portugal: Diagnoses, Trends and Policies”

Employment in Portugal is undergoing a period of restructuring and change, some accelerated, others gradual, with short- and medium-term social, economic, and political impacts. Against the backdrop of the country's development model and its profile of economic specialization, it is necessary to promote an analysis of worker qualifications, the impact of technologies on the organization and delivery of work, and public policies, particularly fiscal policies and the contributory system.

These processes occur within a context of social, economic, and political uncertainties, particularly within the European Union to which we belong, and within a framework of global geopolitical changes. These factors add complexity to the analysis of the labor market and the objective of creating quality jobs.

The CoLABOR 2023 Conference, which will take place in the city of Porto on December 6th at the Manuel António da Mota Foundation, will focus on the analysis of these trends and strategic reflection around them, mobilizing knowledge and perspectives from the academic, business, trade union and political fields.

Employment in Portugal: Diagnoses, Trends and Policies is the title of the CoLABOR 2023 Conference, which will feature four thematic sessions, described in the event program, and a final address by the Minister of Labor, Solidarity and Social Security, Ana Mendes Godinho.
