Abstract:
Evaluating the functional content of jobs plays a key role in promoting equal pay between women and men, given that jobs typically held by women tend to be less valued and poorly paid than those predominantly held by men.

This is primarily due to prejudices and stereotypes regarding the value and content of work predominantly performed by women, the inadequacy of traditional job evaluation methods, and also the lower bargaining power of women who, despite a significant increase, remain underrepresented in decision-making positions.

By evaluating the functional content of different jobs based on common and comparable criteria, it is possible to identify and correct any inequalities in remuneration based on gender bias.
