Work, employment and social protection 2025

This publication aims to portray, contextualize, and relate trends in the areas of work, employment, and social protection, as well as promote reflection on public policies. The TEPS 2025 (National Strategy for Social Protection 2025) focuses on the unequal effects of the climate transition. The chapter dedicated to this theme provides a quantitative measurement of green and brown jobs in Portugal, a characterization of the different socio-professional profiles of these jobs, and identifies categories most vulnerable to policies transitioning to a low-carbon economy. In addition to the main theme, three more chapters are presented: Economic context and workforce; Job quality, labor relations, and inequalities; and Social protection. In each area, various themes are explored which, together, allow for the characterization and problematization of the country's economic, social, and political-institutional framework.
